Men in the Kitchen

The course requires ‘hands on’ purchase of food and ingredients, food preparation, cooking and presentation for a sit-down evening meal on the day. The aim is to learn and develop cooking skills that enable the following of recipes to provide a good, tasty, healthy meal. Critical is that we have fun laughing. There will be shared costs for the purchase of herbs, spices, food and ingredients allow $20-$30. No experience is required. Members need to be happy to contribute to all aspects of the course including the final clean up. This is a hands-on course.

Members may be requested to bring some kitchen implements as required.

In this class, you will learn how to use an embossing machine to create delicately textured surfaces.

We will also be covering a stamping technique called “generational Stamping”.

By the end of the class, you will walk away with your own beautiful handcrafted greeting card.

Crafty Folks - Relief Painting

Relief printing - Using organic materials

“Wandering through your garden in the fresh morning air”

In this class, you will be “fossicking” for organic materials from your garden to bring along and use in our Relief Printing Class.

You will learn the process involved in creating these very organic and beautifully textured prints. The more you explore this process the more you realize Mother nature is a superb artist! Why not come along and learn how to “showcase” some of her fine work through our Organic Relief Printing Class.

Mobile Photography

Location:  Zoom & Excursions          Tutor:  Lyn Haywood

This course is for people who want to produce creative photography and art on their phone, it goes beyond how to use the phone, including post-production of images on the phone or tablet. Sessions will be a mix of theory and practice.

Delivery will be a mix of Zoom and Excursions to areas in Mornington and Rosebud.

Your images will be reviewed at the beginning of each session. Weekly challenges include videos to watch, practical photography and post-processing.

Requirement: - Smartphone and or Tablet or iPad- any brand. Free software to download eg Snapseed and Lightroom mobile, some cheap apps costing about a cup of coffee may be needed.

Scottish Country Dancing

This is a fun and energetic way to keep your mind and body healthy, with lots of laughter and friendship thrown in.

There is no need to bring a partner along (although that would be good).

Please note that this is NOT Highland dancing, but a form of social dancing involving couples of dancers, as part of a set of 8.

There will be opportunities for both experienced dancers and beginners to enjoy this activity and make new friends and to tap your feet to Scottish music.

Maximum Members 32 Minimum Members 8

Members can join after it has started, members on the wait-list will be offered a Temporary Vacancy when available.

Will run over the school holidays.

Members are requested to wear soft-soled shoes (jiffy shoes from Chemist Warehouse etc.)

 

All members enrolling will go onto the wait-list you will be advised acceptance in due course.

Ukulele for Beginners

Learn the basics of the Ukulele and enjoy light-hearted entertainment as you master this musical instrument. Please join this group only if you are prepared to put in and have a go at home to master the ukulele. 

Cost $25 for 5 sessions to cover costs of MP3 recorded music payable on the first week.

The short course will offer:

* Maintenance: - Tuning and string selection

* Theory: Understanding and using song sheets (Lyrics and   Chords)

* Practice: - Rhythm and Chords. How to change chords and strum the ukulele.

* Practice: Melody. How to pick out a tune on your ukulele.

* Practice: Playing in time with recorded music. 

* Participants are asked to beg, borrow, or purchase a playable ukulele and perhaps a music stand.

Rosebud Memorial Hall is at 994 Point Nepean Road, Rosebud.

Minimum 10 Participants.
